At The YOU Power Project (YPP), we believe young people don’t need to wait for the future; they can begin building it now. That belief is embedded in every program we design, every partnership we form, and every young person we serve.

We’re proud to share a major milestone for our organization. Jessica Flynn, Founder and CEO of The YOU Power Project, has been named a Top 3 finalist for the 2025 Capital Elle Business Impact Award, advancing from an initial Top 10 recognition. This honour celebrates leaders whose work is driving meaningful, measurable impact, and in this case, it recognizes the collective impact of YPP’s mission and programs.

Leadership Built on Experiential Impact

Jessica Flynn is an award-winning educator and the founder of The YOU Power Project, a social enterprise dedicated to helping youth ages 10 to 18 develop real-world skills, build confidence, and launch operational businesses or community projects.

Through YPP’s experiential programs, Passion to Purpose and Student Ventures, young people learn how to turn ideas into action. The YOU Power Project partners with schools, municipalities, and nonprofits to deliver entrepreneurship and leadership training that consistently achieves 80–90% venture launch rates, preparing youth for future-ready pathways.

“This recognition reflects the strength of the work happening through The YOU Power Project,” says Jessica Flynn. “When young people are trusted with real responsibility and supported with the right tools, they step into leadership in powerful ways.”

Real Outcomes for Real Futures

YPP programs are designed around action, not theory. Students launch ventures and community initiatives that address real needs, building practical skills in leadership, problem-solving, collaboration, and financial literacy.

This hands-on approach helps young people gain clarity, confidence, and ownership over their future, while creating tangible value within their communities.

Expanding Impact Beyond Canada

The YOU Power Project’s impact continues to grow globally. With proposals supported by Global Affairs Canada, YPP is advancing pilot initiatives in Kenya and Ethiopia, focused on integrating youth entrepreneurship education into school and vocational systems.

These pilots reflect YPP’s belief that youth entrepreneurship is a universal pathway to economic resilience, particularly in communities where access to opportunity may be limited. By embedding practical, skills-based learning early, YPP aims to support sustainable growth and long-term community impact.

Recognition That Belongs to the Mission

While this recognition names Jessica Flynn, it represents the broader work of The YOU Power Project, our students, mentors, partners, families, and supporters who believe in equipping young people with the confidence and skills to lead.

At YPP, success is measured not only by awards but by the lives impacted, the ventures launched, and the futures shaped through intentional youth investment.
